About Jeffrey Motsinger
|
Mr. Motsinger was born in 1957 and grew up in a household of antiques. His mother is a life-long collector of rustic and early American items. Starting in 1985 he managed the 'Beaver Trading Post' and bought estates and resold all catagories of collectibles and housewares. In 1992 he started 'Motsingers Antique Furniture Restoration' which quickly became 'Majestic Mantel Co' and manufactured period reproduction fireplace mantels in hardwood and paintgrade. In 1998 he started Millius Estate Service with his wife, Sandra Millius. They run estate sales, do appraisals, apprais-a-thons for charity, and broker items on eBay.

| A Personal Note From Jeffrey |
|
I really enjoy appraising because I get to see so many wonderful and beautiful things. For my own collection I prefer art glass in all its various forms. My special pieces are large and colorful--they look good enough to eat, and that is exactly what I like about them.

| Magnifying Glass |
| Always bring your magnifying glass when shopping for antiques, it can save you from buying a fake or forgery. Instantly tell cut glass from pressed glass, date beveled glass, read those tiny maker marks, a glass is an invaluable tool. Loops are good (high power), rich-field lenses are good too (bigger field of view but less power), but I prefer a two-stage flip glass by Bausch & Lomb (3x, 4x & 7x when using both lenses) because it combines the best features of both of the other types. |
