| Appraiser Comments: | Thank you for the added information which is helpful. I have a found a comparable which closely matches yours. Your watch is very desirable and would be described as A key wound Swiss 18K gold skeletonized quarter repeating jaquemarts pocket watch with concealed erotic automaton, circa mid 1800s. It appears to have a gilt-finished movement, and two steel shutters slide open to reveal an automaton erotic scene. This is quite a rare and particularly desirable watch and prices can be quite unpredictable in competitive bidding. Another factor is the price of gold, which as you likely know is at all time high levels. Direct appraisal could have different results. For insurance purposes, replacement values are usually used. A very nice family heirloom item! |
